Road Network Management

From commuting to work, going on holidays or to transport the goods and services required to maintain our lifestyle most Australians are dependant on the extensive road network to provide the quality of life that we all enjoy and take for granted.

The task of managing and maintaining this extensive road network is usually entrusted to State Road Authorities and Local Government Councils who are also responsible for the ongoing maintenance and renewal to provide the level of service demanded by the public.

The involvement of Axim in managing over 12,000 km of road network provides immeasurable hands-on experience with network management and has enabled Axim to test, select, develop, implement and utilise the best tools and systems available for the management of road networks and associated infrastructure assets.

Working in partnership with our clients Axim have the skills and experience to assist Asset Managers with the development of short and long term pavement management strategies including annual works programs based on available condition data, agreed models, preferred treatments and optimisation techniques.

Axim’s experience includes modelling the road network and to validate whether performance measures or standards are being achieved and whether the level of expenditure or available funding is adequate.

This capability enables Asset Managers the ability to effectively manage and monitor the performance of their assets and to demonstrate to key stakeholders the effect of different scenarios based on alternative funding options and to assist with the development of long term financial plans to comply with legislative requirements.
